No one knows how old precisely it is. It was there even before the Ottomans arrive. By its architecture and nature it is totally different from other Orthodox Churches in Sarajevo, Old Orthodox Church of St. Archangel Mikhail and Gabriel.

The Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Mother of God with the Orthodox Theological seminary was built between 1863 and 1872.
This three-part basilica has five domes in the Byzantine style with the baroque bell tower.
St. Sava Orthodox Church at Blažuj – built in 1897 according to the design of August Butch dating from, June 4th, 1896.
