Only a few kilometers from Jajce, in the natural environment, there are Large, Small and Round Pliva Lakes.It is truly amazing how many opportunities for recreation, the lake provides. From fishing, kayaks, canoes, kayaks, jumps and swimming, until the activity on the coast, such as volleyball, bicycling, walking etc.
Pliva’s Large lake is at altitude of 424 m. The length is 3.3 km, maximum width of 660 m (average width is 343 m). Maximum depth of the lake is 33 m, area 1.1 km 2, and length of coastal line is 7857 m. The temperature of the surface layer of water is about 17 ° C, while the deep layer is about 12 ° C. Located along the main road Jajce-Bihać, it is only about 4 km far from Jajce. Of fish species most represented are brown, lake and rainbow trout and grayling.
Pliva’s Small Lake is long around 1.5 km, and wide on average about 150 m. On a small lake there is beach for swimming and other amenities for good time on the beach.
These lakes have been host to major international and European competitions in kayaking and canoeing in calm waters. These waters provide maximum conditions for training canoeist, canoeist and rowers.
