Okra - One of the most powerful aphrodisiacs that mother nature has offered in its splendid treasures of herbs. Okra (Bamya, Turkey - plant) is an indispensable dish at the solemn feasts, and its specific taste can not be replaced by any other plant which uses the traditional cuisine of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Okra is a vegetable of the Orient and southern bred more species and one species thrives in Bosnia as well.
Here in Sarajevo okra can be found and consumed in many restaurants, no matter if they offer local or international food.

We offer one of the most interesting recipes to make it on your own if desired.
Ingredients
Preparation
1. Put Okra put in a pot, add water just to cover, add 2 tablespoons of vinegar to a boil.
2. In another pot saute finely chopped onions, garlic and meat with seasonings.
3. When you add the boiled meat sautée Bamji and tomatoes, after that, add 0, 5 l of water and let it cook on low heat.
4. Cook Okra for about 30 minutes and add water in necessary.
5. Note. Once you add Okra to the pot do not stir, Okra might decompose, just shake the pot.
