Archbishop Stadler on 7th February 1897 purchased land with a small house on Bjelave settlement in Sarajevo. Some of the sisters at the beginning of April have moved into this house, from the one that was in Mjedenica street.
In the January of 1898, he blessed the foundation for construction of a new house, which was completed in the same year, and already on 24th of October 1898, the Sisters and 52 girls from the the hosue at Mejdenica street, in the new home on the Bjelave, which Stadler gave a name “Bethlehem”.
This house had a triple role: Heritage house, Institute of Infant Jesus for poor female children, and Primary School alongside it. This house served its purpose until the end of World War II. After the war, the communist authorities have confiscated all the assets and Sisters were expelled from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
House, “Bethlehem” was confiscated by the National Council in Sarajevo on 22 June 1949, under excuse of urgent need of housing space for housing commissions, and sisters were given three days to move out to a monastery at Kraljeva Sutjeska.
In 1996 Sisters have been given a House Egipat (Egypt), where still today they perform their humanity acts.
