Bob Sled Trebević

A facility built prior and because of the XIV Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo, whose length was 1.570 m, the start on 1.108,5 m, and finish line on 982,6 meters above sea level.

The Bob Sled Track during the Olympic Games was used for Olympic disciplines, and as well after the Games, but till' 1992.

It was easily reachable from Sarajevo by the lift (Sarajevska Žičara), where it would start at Bistrik in Sarajevo, and at Vidikovac, almost at the top of Trebević mountain, you would be there within 15 minutes.

During the recent Sarajevo Siege, the track was almost totally destroyed by Serb forces, used for bunkers, drilled with bullet holes or grenade shrapnel, surrounded with mines, and in the end left to the "time" to take over.

Up till today it was not rebuilt yet, but just recently (November 2009), that area was totally cleared out of mines, so some new plans for the revitalization of this Olympic beauty have been placed down into considering, since it is safe to walk all around.

Today this point is easily reachable with car or with a bit bigger effort by walk.
