After Franz Ferdinand was assassinated by Gavrilo Princip, authorities of Sarajevo city have erected monument in honor to this event.

The memorial to Franz Ferdinand, erected in 1917, by the design of Eugen Bori, and removed in 1918.

Removal was result of World War I and after the Austria-Hungarian authorities have left these areas, and even the Latin Bridge changed name to Princip's Bridge, but later on in 1992 it changed name to its original.
