At the intersection of Sagrdžije and Čemerlina streets is building of Shari'at law school. It was built in 1887 in pseudo-Moorish style by Karlo Paržik.

Shari’at law school (mekteb-nuvad) was opened in December of the same year as five-year higher school. The building is located at the plateau, and creates great impression. The interior is specific, because there are two atriums, or inner courtyards with fountains (howz).

The building has two levels and two entrances, one of which is connected to the main street with a long stairs. Building shari'at law school is also specific for the wooden roof construction and painted walls and ceilings, since this is not typical arabesque what can be found in other oriental type facilities, and also because the paintings were done using templates.

Shari’at law school stopped working in 1935. After WWII, in the building was located departure of Faculty of Law, and then Museum of Sarajevo.
Since 1995 it is a faculty of Islamic Studies.
