VISAS


The Council of Ministers of B&H issued new Decision on Visas, which has been published in the “Official Gazette of B&H”, No: 100/2008 dated December 16th, 2008.

Decision on Visas shall be put into effect as of December 24th, 2008. Nationals of the bellow listed countries shall be exempted from visa regime when entering and staying on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina up to 90 days:

Citizens of the following special administrative zones that shall not be required to have visa when entering and staying on the territory of B&H:

1. Hong Kong (Peoples` Republic of China)

2. Macao (Peoples` Republic of China)


Besides having travel document and a proper identity card proving identity and citizenship, the nationals of the following countries may enter Bosnia and Herzegovina:

• EU member states

• Schengen Agreement signatory countries

• Andorra, Montenegro, Croatia, Liechtenstein, Monaco, San Marino, Serbia, the Holy See and the Swiss Confederation


Cost of visas


• Single entry-exit visas and transit visas 31.00 EUR

• Multiple entry-exit visas for periods up to 90 days 57.00 EUR

• Multiple entry-exit visa for periods over 90 days 72.00 EUR

For the purposes of private visit, guarantee letter/invitation by a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, shall be submitted together with the visa application.

CUSTOMS


If you travel across one of 52 border points in Bosnia and Herzegovina (40 passenger/ 4 air / 8 railway border points), you should be aware of the below mentioned rights and duties that you as natural persons are entitled to when crossing state border.

The items of "personal luggage" belonging to a passenger coming from abroad are exempted from import duties if they are not subject to any restrictions or prohibitions provided that these importations are not of commercial nature.

"Personal luggage" means all non-commercial items for personal usage of passenger’s or his/her household, including items that he/she uses in the course of travelling, provided that there is evidence that at departure it was registered as accompanying luggage with a company that transferred luggage from the country of departure to Bosnia and Herzegovina.


Tariff preferences with the below mentioned quantity restrictions per passenger and per day are applied to:

 

  1. non-commercial goods, including gifts and souvenirs from a passenger’s personal luggage, with the customs value of no more than BAM 200,
  2. tobacco products: o 200 cigarettes or o 100 cigarillos or o 250 g of tobacco,
  3. liqueurs: o 2 liters of table wine, o 1 liters of liqueurs or spirits with more than 22% of alcohol (of 2 liters of strong wine, champagne or any other beverage);
  4. perfumes and eau de toilette: o 60 cc/ml of perfume, o 250 cc/ml of eau de toilette.



Special Note: Passengers younger than 17 are not allowed to import goods mentioned under items 2 and 3.
